Cummings Township runs on volunteerism and community spirit. For example, our Township government has no full time employees (and just a handful of part time employees), our Township Park and Recreation Committee is an entirely volunteer effort and our Waterville Volunteer Fire Company serving Cummings and McHenry Townships and adjacent areas is also an entirely volunteer effort.
We enjoy a tremendous quality of life in Cummings Township and the Pine Creek Valley but there is a lot of volunteer effort taking place behind the scenes to help make it so. Community spirit, service and entrepreneurism are the foundation upon which our Country was built and is sustained. We encourage you to BE A LOCAL HERO and get involved as a volunteer to help preserve what we all enjoy so much about this area.
Volunteers are needed for the Park and Recreation Committee. Our local park is unrivaled for its beautiful grounds and amenities. It gets a lot of use and enjoyment by Cummings Township residents and guests. The Park and Recreation Committee serves to help maintain the park, oversee picnic pavilion rentals and makes recommendations to the Township Supervisors relative to purchasing and maintaining the playground and equipment. Volunteers are also needed at the Waterville Volunteer Fire Company. Members are your fellow citizens and neighbors. They are the first responders who show up at all hours to save your house from a fire or save your life in a medical emergency. New members are needed to serve in many capacities including emergency response but also including fund raising, event organization and support and general administration.
